Chassis No: FB 3316
Engine No: FB 3318
A full description will be posted in due course but in short this is a really nice car that has benefitted from a high quality restoration and seen little use since.
It comes from a 36 year ownership and has matching numbers to its chassis, engine, front & rear axles, C Type gearbox, steering box and switch plate. The body was prepared by H&H and finished by the great Jim Pearce to his usual impeccable standards; the leather and carpet will not disappoint. The engine was rebuilt with a Phoenix crank and rod set and starts without fuss and runs very smoothly. On the road the car performs well with lively performance and light (for a Bentley!) steering. Its a 1929 model and accordingly has the confidence inspiring self wrapping brakes. The clutch is very light and the gears amongst the best I have driven, easy to select and silent with it. The nickel brightwork and paint showing a delightful patina that is so often missing on a more recent restoration. It is sitting on 19 inch wheels and if it were mine I would fit a set of 21’s just for the look of them and keep the 19’s for racing. I could also be persuaded to tone down the instrument panel and paint those hood sticks black. I own one of these myself and while I love it to bits it does not get close to being as good as this one.
More detail and history will follow.
